Consultation has concluded

Are you inspired by Pickering's trails?

Lucy Maud Montgomery was also inspired by nature, and gave Anne Shirley in Anne of Green Gables that inspiration as well. We can learn a lot about finding inspiration from Anne and Maud. Anne started a writing circle with her friends, teaching them to cultivate their imaginations, and look critically at their own writing.

Look around you, take in the scenery and sounds and smells. How would you start a story, or poem, that uses Pickering’s trails and natural wonders as a setting?

Visit the Anne & Maud Discovery Trail, on site at the Pickering Museum Village, to learn more about Anne and Maud's connections with nature!
