Stand in Solidarity with Indigenous Peoples - Learn About Our Shared History, and Take Action

The City of Pickering and Pickering Public Library extends its deepest sympathies to the Indigenous Peoples across Turtle Island, and beyond on the reporting of children's remains at Canadian residential school sites.

In response, Pickering is shifting the direction of Canada Day activities to focus on education, reconciliation and reflection. We will also display the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation Flag, with all City flags at half-mast from dusk on June 30 through dawn on July 2.

This Canada Day we invite you to Contemplate Canada. Learn more about our shared history, and ways that you can take action. Visit pickering.ca/CanadaDay.
