Project Information
The City of Pickering is updating the Frenchman's Bay Watersheds Stormwater Management Master Plan, which was originally completed in April 2009.
The update will evaluate the efficiency of the current stormwater management system and examine new stormwater management alternatives in accordance with the Class Environmental Assessment (EA) process for Municipal stormwater projects. It will also develop a preferred stormwater management strategy towards achieving healthy watersheds and considering future growth and climate-related challenges.
The objectives of the Master Plan Update will consider flood and erosion control, groundwater and surface water quality management, water balance/infiltration, natural heritage environment management and infrastructure, all in an integrated manner.
The update will follow the Master Planning Approach 2 in accordance with Environmental Assessment Act as per the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment document.
When complete, the updated Frenchman's Bay Watersheds Stormwater Management Master Plan will act as a decision-making guide, rank projects, and address future needs of the Frenchman's Bay watersheds environment and growing community.
Aquafor Beech Limited has been retained by the City of Pickering to complete the Master Plan Update
