We Grow Food Workshop
Thursday, April 3, 7 pm – 8:30 pm (George Ashe Community Centre)
Participants will learn about the edible community garden project happening in our neighbourhood and how to effectively grow food at home. Each participant will have the opportunity to assemble and plant a wicking pot to take home to grow their own food.
Beekeeper Rachel & the Honey Bees Workshop
Tuesday, April 8, 7 pm – 8:30 pm (Don Beer Arena, Banquet Hall)
Meet beekeeper Rachel. Rachel will teach us the lifecycle and role of a worker bee, a drone, and the queen. You will learn how honeybees store & make honey. Rachel will share how she extracts honey from the beehives and makes them into honey. Each participant will receive a complimentary jar of honey.

Schools, families, neighbourhood groups and businesses commit to give Pickering a makeover by picking up litter around the community for at least 20 minutes. Bags and gloves will be provided while quantities last.
