Mayor Ryan recently announced that after a 28-year career in municipal politics, he plans to officially retire at the end of this term of office.

Please join us in celebrating Mayor Ryan with your best wishes, fondest memories, and unique shared histories.

Tuesday, September 20 marked Mayor Ryan's last Meeting of Council. He was joined by family, friends, colleagues, and community members, who paid tribute to him, and the exciting and dramatic legacy that he leaves behind. When he retires at the end of this term, Mayor Ryan will be Pickering’s longest-serving Mayor, and tonight, Council Chambers was heavy with emotion as we reflected on his journey, and shared our best wishes, fondest memories, and unique shared histories.     In 2011 my daughter was involved in a pageant and the organization asked the contestants to try and obtain z picture with their City's Mayor. Mayor Ryan was more than happy to meet with Dallas to have their picture taken together. The pageant was hoping to get as many contestants to participate. Thank you for all the years of service, you should be very proud of all your achievement and take the time to enjoy your retirement.

    Thank you Dave for all you’ve done for the City of Pickering. During my years working for Pickering Town Centre, we enjoyed many special events & ribbon cuttings at store openings. I will always remember you and Ann as friends. You will be greatly missed and I wish you much happiness and good health in your retirement years.
