I will miss Ian very much. We always had lively discussions about Pickering, politics, business, cars, and dogs - and not necessarily in that order. My heartfelt condolences go out to Amy, his sons, grandchildren, and family. Pickering is a poorer community without him.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of a great friend and mentor. Ian had a great ability to look at life for what it had in store. I will miss him greatly. RIP my brother! 😢

We all send our deepest condolences and sincerest regrets for the passing of such a wonderful man. A family man, a husband, a parent, a grandparent and a grand pet master. All of us mourn his passing. One time when I was speaking with him and asking about his health, he proudly boasted, "I'm here still because of Amy's efforts, work and love." Ian will be greatly missed by us all but the dogs in heaven will walk with him with joy and happiness. May he rest in peace but walk with his pet partners with jauntiness and joy! Richard Szpin, Nadia and Fermo too.

I am very sad at the passing of Councillor Cumming, he was a colleague and friend. We spoke frequently, sometimes over a coffee at an outdoor cafe, and he and his spouse Amy were amongst the first guests to our home after the lifting of COVID restrictions. He cared greatly for the community and gave great consideration of matters for Council’s consideration. He was one of the good ones, and I will miss him.

Our thoughts are with Amy and his family and friends. Deputy Mayor David Pickles
