Consultation has concluded
Mayor Ryan recently announced that after a 28-year career in municipal politics, he plans to officially retire at the end of this term of office.
Tuesday, September 20 marked Mayor Ryan's last Meeting of Council. He was joined by family, friends, colleagues, and community members, who paid tribute to him, and the exciting and dramatic legacy that he leaves behind. When he retires at the end of this term, Mayor Ryan will be Pickering’s longest-serving Mayor, and tonight, Council Chambers was heavy with emotion as we reflected on his journey, and shared our best wishes, fondest memories, and unique shared histories. We invite you to watch for yourself:
