Mayor Ryan,

Please accept my best wishes and congrats to you and your family as your illustrious political career winds down. We have been colleagues and friends from Day One. During my 23 years representing Scarborough (9 years as a City Councillor and 13 years as an MPP and Minister at Queen's Park) there are few individuals I have come across that have made as big of an impact on their community and beyond as my good friend Mayor Ryan. Your leadership has Pickering poised to be a leading jurisdiction within the GTA in driving our region forward towards a more prosperous future with a great quality of life for those residents that have supported you so strongly through the years. You have been a fighter, a conciliator, a visionary, and a leader throughout your political career and I will always look up to you as a shining example of what dedication and commitment to public office should be all about. Thank you Dave for all you have done. Welcome to political retirement.
