Last year, community members shared their ideas and preferences for Pickering's new community-sized all-wheels park (planned for 1640 Kingston Road), and now we have a concept design to show you.

Here's what you need to know:

The City of Pickering is in the process of planning for a new, community-sized skate park to serve residents of all ages and skill levels.

This will be an 'all-wheels park' as it is meant for all uses (skateboarding, scootering, BMX biking, and inline skating).

Location: 1640 Kingston Road (within the Hydro Corridor), just north of Diana, Princess of Wales Park.

Size: 1,200 square metres (12,000 square feet)

Construction of this new facility is scheduled for Summer 2026. Once complete, the nearby skateboard park at Diana, Princess of Wales Park (which has served the community for approximately 30 years and is nearing the end of its life), will be removed and the site will be restored.

Stay tuned to this project page for updates and to participate in the design process.

Background

The City of Pickering's Skateboard Park Strategy (approved by Council in 2017), identified the need for a new community-size skateboard park within South Pickering.

On September 29, 2025, Council approved the Request for Proposal No. RFP2025-13 for the design and construction of a new community-sized skateboard park, as submitted by Radius Skateparks Inc.
