Recommendation Report to Council

A recommendation report regarding the Draft New Modernized Tree Protection By-law will be considered by the Executive Committee of Council at its meeting to be held on,

 

Monday, January 8, 2024 at 2:00 pm

 

Members of the public may attend the meeting in person in the Council Chambers at City Hall, or may observe the meeting

proceedings by viewing the livestream. A recording of the meeting will also be available on the City’s website following the meeting. 

 

Please note that this item is scheduled for 2:00 pm, however, this matter could be delayed due to the Committee’s consideration of preceding agenda items.

The recommendation report is available within the Executive Committee Meeting agenda

Virtual delegations to the Executive Committee must register by 12:00 pm noon on the last business day before the scheduled meeting. The second survey, open from June 26th, 2023 - July 14th, 2023, will provide further opportunity for feedback from the community, and will be reviewed in detail and the results will included in future reporting to Council.

Having had a soft launch in Spring of this year, which included an Open House and an online survey, the City is now looking for feedback on the content of the proposed new Tree Protection By-law. The focus of the new Tree Protection By-law will be to protect the tree canopy by expanding the scope of the tree protection areas under the new by-law.
