Outdoor Pickleball Courts at Shadybrook Park
Pickleball courts were recently installed in the Amberlea neighbourhood to promote active living and meet the sport’s growing demand. While welcomed by players, some nearby residents have raised concerns about noise and parking. The courts, shared with the Amberlea Tennis Club, are currently closed to Pickleball play. This outreach seeks resident input on whether the Pickleball courts should be reopened and if so, under what conditions.

The City of Pickering's Recreation & Parks 10 Year Plan recommends the development of Pickleball courts to meet the current and future demands for playing time.
In the summer of 2024, four pickleball courts were opened at Shadybrook Park, Pickleball remained in full play until October 2024.
In the summer of 2025, two pickleball courts were open for play and noise reduction panels were added to two sides of the pickleball enclosure. A noise study was conducted to determine the impact of pickleball play on nearby residences.We are seeking the Amberlea community input to help us shape how the pickleball courts will be used in the future.
