Vera asked about 3 years agoRequirements can depend on when the basement apartment was constructed. Please email fire@pickering.ca to connect with a member of our Fire Prevention team, who can gather additional details and help determine what may be required.

Nisant asked 11 months agoYou can try vacuuming the alarm and pressing the test button, which can help reset it. If the issue continues, please check the back of the alarm or the manufacturer's instructions (there is usually a chart explaining what different beep patterns mean). Some alarms will also continue to beep once they reach their end of life, and need to be replaced. If the beeping persists after troubleshooting, the alarm may have reached its end of life and should be replaced.

Amaan Khan asked about 2 years agoHi there! Yes, that is correct. There are options such as Fire Prevention and Education that do not have the same eyesight requirements - we recommend looking into those if interested. Best of luck!

Emcee asked almost 2 years agoWhile this is not something that Pickering Fire Services can help with, fire extinguishers can be serviced by private fire protection companies. We recommend looking online to find a company nearby.
