This survey focuses on the City’s Agricultural and Rural Areas. Feedback received will inform how the City will ensure that the agricultural sector and rural settlements are protected as Pickering grows, while providing the ability to meet the evolving needs of residents. Questions will gather input on what land uses should be permitted in agricultural areas, how to enhance and protect hamlets and rural settlement areas, and mitigate potential impacts of anticipated urban growth on these areas.
A summary of the survey results will be shared publicly; however, all individual responses will be kept confidential. All questions are optional, and the survey should take about 15 minutes to complete.

The City of Pickering is updating its Official Plan, the City’s long-range planning document.
An Official Plan describes:
- Where new housing, industry, offices and shops will be located.
- What services will be needed, such as roads, watermains, sewers, parks and schools.
- How to protect what is important, such as the natural environment and historic homes.
- When, where, and in what order the community will grow.

- Where, and how the City will invest in community improvement initiatives.
This survey focuses on our Community Vision and Priorities as the first community conversation of the City’s Official Plan Review. Community feedback on the vision and priorities will inform the major themes in the Official Plan.
A summary of the survey results will be shared publicly; however, all individual responses will be kept confidential. All questions are optional, and the survey should take about 10 to 15 minutes to complete.
